| Biographie / CV | Alberto Della Martina has obtained an engineering masters degree in materials science and a Ph.D. in polymers science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne.He has accumulated nearly 10 years of experience in R&D, engineering, industrial development and quality systems in medical devices, pharma, and cosmetics startups and industries.To date, he is the author or co-author of 16 publications (http://www.dm2tc.ch/publications.html) in peer-reviewed scientific journals, of 2 patents (WO/2011/089459, WO/2008/152465), and he regularly performs peer reviews for a polymer science journal.He started his consulting activity in February, 2009. |

| Compétences | Management: Several projects management experience: development of monocusp patch for pulmonary valve repair, development of polyurethanes with controlled acoustic properties, etc. Responsibility for the coordination of joint studies with the European partners of the UMEDS Project. Supervision of lab technicians and students' laboratory work, semester projects and diploma works.Techniques: Macromolecular engineering (thermodynamics, processing and shaping, proficiency in auto-arrangements of macromolecules and surfactants). Multidisciplinar knowledge of materials: surface science; powders technology; colloidal systems; physics and chemistry of metals, technical ceramics, polymers, and composites; pharmaceutical technology; controlled delivery systems Synthesis, formulation and characterization of polymers, especially poyl(dicyclopentadiene) and polysiloxanes with controlled porosity. Major characterization techniques: SEM; chemical analyses (IR spectroscopy; optical analyses; chromatography ); mechanical tests; thermodynamic and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA, DSC ); flow cytometry; light scattering Knowledge of norms and directives:ISO 13485 (including ISO 9001), 93/42/CEE, ISO 11135, ISO 19011, ISO 14971.Computers:Excellent command of common desktop software, of databases, and of scientific and technical software. Familiar with both Windows and Macintosh environments.Languages:French and Italian bilingual. English: full professional proficiency. Intermediate German. |
