Activité

Having obtained my Ph.D. in Structural Biology & Nanobiology, I am currently searching for a position in biotechnological research and development in the area of public health in which I can apply and extend my expertise in protein purification and analysis. I have further specialized in structural biology, focusing on membrane protein structure and function, because of the unique challenges and opportunities presented in this dynamic field.

Compétences

Specifically, I completed a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. program in the BBSI Laboratory in CEA Grenoble (France). My training there provided a solid base in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics. Independently, I extended my training on the expression and purification of recombinant bacterial and yeast proteins to the level of structural analyses via the application of biophysical tools that were available in the Mass Spectrometry Service of the Institute of Structural Biology in Grenoble . Through hands-on experience and exchange with resident scientists there, I became proficient in the use of hydrogen deuterium exchange coupled to mass spectrometry (i.e., HDX-MS, which was not part of my formal training in the standard University program). Prior to 2010, HDX-MS was an analytical tool restricted to the study of soluble proteins. My perseverance in mastering this techniques allowed us to include innovative results in our publication on the application of HDX-MS to a target protein class of considerable importance to the pharmaceutical industry, and for which structural data was lagging far behind: membrane proteins.More informations:https://sites.google.com/site/clemenconcv/
