Projet

"In an increasingly complex world, Knowledge Visualization is gaining importance in all areas of science, business and society. Analog and digital visual approaches aim at supporting the creation, application and communication of knowledge. It has proven particularly useful for providing insights – in situations where people from different educational, cultural and professional backgrounds collaborate.Whilst Information Visualization focuses on the use of computer-based tools to explore large data sets, Knowledge Visualization investigates (a) how to create and transfer insights between individuals and within groups, (b) how to manage and reduce complexity so as to allow understanding, and (c) how to support learning and interaction through new approaches and techniques.Knowledge Visualization aims to facilitate the transfer of insights, experiences, values, expectations, perspectives, opinions and predictions. Researchers and practitioners in the domains of Knowledge Visualization develop strategies, tools and methods to make knowledge visible and to improve processes through which knowledge can be identified, accessed, assessed, shared, discussed, applied and generally managed."Source: CFP "Symposium on Knowledge Visualization and Visual Thinking"Remo Burkhard, ETH Zurich, http://www.ia.arch.ethz.chMartin J.
